Focus on Sci-fi

Science Fiction (or Sci-fi) films are movies which tell stories about the future, robots, aliens and outer space. They often use special effects to show these different worlds. Sci-fi movies can be based on books, just like other kinds of movies.

 

Qual os temas abordados nos filmes de gênero SCI-FI ?

Number	the parts of the AVATAR Movie review
	Avatar (2009) is a science fiction movie about a human mission on a distant alien world called Pandora. The movie was directed by James Cameron. It stars Sam Worthington as Jake Sully and Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, a native from Pantora. The movie won 3 Oscars including Visual Effects.
	Avatar is a must-see movie. It has drama, romance, and out-of-this-world (literally) special effects. It is impossible not to fall in love with the inhabitants of Pandora.
	The film is set in the mid-22nd century when humans are colonizing Pandora, an exuberant habitable moon of a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri star system. Some scenes were shot in Wellington, New Zealand.
	Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paraplegic  marine, is sent to the moon Pandora on a singular mission and becomes torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home. The Resources Development Administration (RDA) wants to mine a valuable superconductor mineral on Pandora, so they need to relocate the natives, disturbing the harmony of this amazing world.
